Analyzing the current and desirable state of the curriculum of Shahid Bahonar University based on the components of a service-oriented university

Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to investigate the views of faculty members about the curriculum of Shahid Bahonar University based on the components of a service-oriented university. For this purpose, 234 people were selected as a statistical sample in this research from the statistical population including faculty members of Shahid Bahonar University. The quantitative research method and the research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire and 31 items were examined in the form of five curriculum elements: goals, content, teaching-learning activities, evaluation methods, educational environment and in two existing and desired situations. The validity of the data collection instrument for the research was examined and confirmed based on its face and content validity, as well as its reliability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The results showed that from the point of view of the faculty members, in the current situation, two elements of the content and teaching-learning activities of the curriculum have a favorable condition in terms of compliance with the components of the service-oriented university, but the three elements of goals, evaluation and environment Education based on university components are not service-oriented. In the optimal state of the element of the curriculum educational environment in terms of compliance with the components of the service-oriented university, it has the biggest difference with its optimal state.
