Applying the Functional, National, Global, Theorical and Construction of Curriculum’s Components in Humanities Curricula from Faculty Members’ Point of Views (Case: Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman)

Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to examine the rate of application of functional, national, global, theoretical and construction of curriculum’s components in humanities curricula. According to this, with a researcher made questionnaire that its reliability estimated to be 0.92, the views of a total of 100 faculty member from humanities departments of Shahid Bahonar University were examined about the rate of applying this components in current humanities curricula. Findings showed that from faculty members’ point of views, all components are lower than average. In this regard, the Special attention is related to the theoretical and professional component, but minimum attention is related to global and international component and with a slight variation, is related to functional and practical component. According to the results of this research, it is recommended that in revising plans of humanities curricula in universities, it should be more attention to global, international, functional and practical components, the role of entrepreneurship in the curriculum be recognized, and with identifying the native potential, curriculum planners use the local components in both content and forms of curriculum. It is also recommended that the curriculum planners should have the special attention to the philosophy and history of science in the future curricula revision, and with considering the demands of students and external institutes, design and provide curriculum collaboratively as it is possible.
