Abstract

The role of textbooks in learners' education is undeniable. Considering the importance of developing educational resources and addressing the shortcomings of textbooks in the field of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, analyzing and evaluating these resources is essential. Therefore, the present study evaluates the textbook "Arabic, the Language of Quran 3" for the twelfth grade in the field of Literature and Humanities (1404 Persian calendar / 2025-2026) with the aim of improving the quality of Arabic educational resources. The research is based on a library-analytical method with a critical approach and has a mixed-method nature. Utilizing Cunningsworth's (1995-2007) textbook evaluation checklists, it examines, analyzes, and assesses the book. The type of research is a case study; a single textbook has been studied. In terms of outcome, the study is applied, and its results can be used by textbook authors. The results of the study showed that the twelfth-grade humanities textbook has a logical and cultural structure regarding language organization and vocabulary selection. However, it has serious weaknesses in communication skills (speaking Arabic, listening, interaction). Its approach remains translation-oriented and traditional, not skill-based. In terms of structure, content, and alignment with official educational goals, the twelfth-grade Arabic textbook is successful, but it requires serious revision in strengthening communication skills, visual appeal, and educational innovation.
