Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to design and validate a curriculum framework based on the approach of "Hayat Tayyibah" (virtuous life) within the education system. The research design employed a sequential exploratory mixed-methods approach of the classification type, utilizing a qualitative case study method in the initial phase. The potential participants in this phase included Islamic texts, upstream policy documents, and theoretical and research literature related to Hayat Tayyibah and curriculum studies, which were analyzed using the content analysis method. Accordingly, the components of the ten curriculum elements were extracted, including rationale, curriculum ideals, general objectives, content, the concept of education, teaching-learning approaches, the roles of the educator and learner, the role of the learning environment, and evaluation. The quantitative phase employed a descriptive-survey method. The statistical population consisted of faculty members in the field of curriculum studies, Islamic education specialists, curriculum planners, doctoral students, and teachers with experience in teaching Quranic and Islamic studies courses. A sample of 312 individuals was selected using simple random sampling, with selection criteria based on work experience, education, and engagement in the field of curriculum studies. The data collection tool was a researcher-developed questionnaire designed based on the characteristics identified in the qualitative phase. Its validity was assessed through face validity, Content Validity Ratio (CVR), and confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.972 for the entire framework. The quantitative data analysis, conducted using factor analysis, indicated the significance of all curriculum framework components, demonstrating the framework's satisfactory validity based on the collected data.
